Coronado Cave, Huachuca Mountains
Coronado National Memorial
If you wish to visit the Coronado Cave, stop first at the visitor center at the Coronado National Memorial. Entrance to the Cave is by permit only. Free permits are available at the Visitor Center, open 8-5 daily.
To reach Coronado Cave, follow the steep and rocky trail from the Visitor Center to the entrance of the cave (3/4 mile one way.) The cave is approximately 600 ft. in length, 20 ft. high and 70 ft. wide. Allow a minimum of two hours for the round trip hike and a visit to the cave. Bring water, hiking shoes, and several flashlights. Each person wishing to enter the cave should provide two flashlights. Candles or flares are not permitted.

Crystal Cave, Chiricahua Mountains
Coronado National Forest, Douglas Ranger District
This cave is gated and requires a key reservation made through the Douglas Ranger District Office. Caving parties should be a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 6 people. The cave is closed from April 15 through August 31 for the bat mating season. For information and safety tips call (520) 364-3468.
